The Tenuta di Castiglioni winery has been owned by the Frescobaldi family since the 11th century. The winery is situated in a gentle hilly landscape that is open on all sides. The vegetation is typically Mediterranean.Tasting notes:Ruby red with violet reflections. In the nose typical of cherries, raspberries and a hint of gingerbread spice and caramel. On the palate very juicy, pleasant, fruity. A light fresh note comes out. Rounded off with some toasted aromas and a long lasting finish. Grape varieties: Sangiovese, Merlot. Vinification: Steel tank. Drinking temperature: 14-16 °C. Maturity: Until 2022. This wine goes very well with Bolognese, Cannelloni, Lasagne, Pizza Neapolitana and Saltimbocca. It is also the ideal accompaniment for sardines, rice balls, polenta and pies.
