The Hannes Reeh winery is located in the well-known wine-growing region of Andau, which is close to Lake Neusiedl. With 2400 hours of sunshine, Andau is one of the sunniest places in Austria. The vines grow on gravelly soils and have to be content with very little rainfall (450mm). Hannes Reeh has been solely responsible for the vinification of the wines since 2007. The winemaker is an unconventional person, self-confident and single-mindedly pursues his plans. UNPLUGGED, these are wines that are produced without any frills, but with a lot of feeling for the beat of nature. No fining agents, no enzymes and no cultivated yeasts. In good wine years even without filtration. Tasting notes:Ruby red with black reflections. In the nose sweet with notes of currants. This is followed by clear hints of chocolate. At the palate very mild, soft, harmonious with gentle tannins. Again the currant shows up with a long, fruity sweet finish. Grape variety: Cabernet Sauvignon. Maturation: 4 weeks of maceration, 16-18 months in barrique. Soil: Red gravel. Residual sugar: 1,0 g/l. Acidity: 5,3 g/l. Storage potential: Until 2033. Serving temperature: 16-18 °C. Closure: Natural cork. This wine is excellent with grilled or roasted beef as well as pork and especially good with onion roast and steak.
