Carnuntum in Lower Austria has a special position due to its dry conditions. The cooling influence of the Danube floodplains, as well as the steady air masses towards the Danube valley, quickly dry out the low precipitation and stop Atlantic rains coming from the west. The 2018 vintage is one of the earliest harvests ever, a magnificent vintage with a hot summer, high grape quality without any diseases. A wonderful varietal typicity with rich character. Awards: - 91 POINTS by Falstaff - PLACE 2 in category Cuvee 2018 by FalstaffTasting notes:Ruby red with purple rim in the glass. In the nose it is full-bodied and typical of the variety. On the palate, cherries, warm spices and roasted aromas. Long lasting, elegant and juicy in the finish. A great wine with good value for money. Grape varieties: 80% Zweigelt, 10% Blaufränkisch, 10% Merlot. Vinification: In large wooden barrels. Acidity: 5.1 g/l. Residual sugar: 1.5 g/l. Harvest: Early to mid September. Drinking temperature: 16-18°C. The red wine harmonizes with various pasta dishes, prosciutto and grilled meat.
