The family winery Paul Lehrner is today under the management of Paul and Gertrude Lehrner. The winery is located in the municipality of Horitschon in the heart of Blaufränkischland, it covers 27 hectares. Great emphasis is placed on rationality and varietal speciality. Winemaker Paul Lehrner focuses his attention on indigenous grape varieties such as Blaufränkisch. The deep, heavy clay soils offer optimal conditions for red wine varieties. Tasting notes:Ruby red in the glass. A pithy structure on the nose and palate, of dried fruit, black bread and raisins. Long lasting with clear tannins on the finish. Grape variety: Blaufränkisch. Aging: 14 months in barriques, 50% in new and 50% in refilled barrels. Soil: loam, loess soil. Harvest: mid-October. Closure: Natural cork. Drinking temperature: 16-18°C. The red wine goes very well with ragouts, meat dishes and cheese.
